Timing the Sale of Your Horse: Strategies for Maximum Profit

Storm Kathleen looks like she’s just about behind us and we can hopefully start dreaming of Spring. The final preparations are being put on the breeze-up horses and we’re hard at work scaling through the catalogues to try find our next breeze-up star. Last years crop took us to a new level with Orderofthephoenix winning her maiden on her second start and being subsequently sold on for over €200,000.

Queen Of Atlantis has been one of the most enjoyable fillies that we’ve ever had in training. She’s won her last three starts in a row and has Royal Ascot aspirations on her agenda. She’s had a short break and is back in work now with two entries during the week. The year previous we picked up Queen Maedbh in May for 25,000gns and sold her after her first start in July for many multiples of what she cost.

QUEEN MAEDBH ON THE WAY TO THE START IN LEOPARDSTOWN

The initial #Bargainbreezer project yielded Cliffsofthunder who was sold to America after her first start for a six figure deal. All in all its been a thoroughly enjoyable and successful few years at the breeze-up sales and we plan on going bigger and better this year. Q&A with DC and Meta

Brian Sheerin of the TDN sat down with the newly inducted ITBA Hall Of Famers Dermot Cantillon and Meta Osborne to talk through their lives in game with a couple of golden nuggets. See below for a thoroughly enjoyable read.

A sire to note

Harry Angel is a sire we feel is seriously underrated but not for long. He’s made a savage start to his second career and had a new Group winner in Leopardstown on Sunday. A Lilac Rolla recorded a tough, gutsy performance in the recognised Guineas trial and is a solid contender for the upcoming Classics.

We’re very excited to have a Harry Angel half sister to Buratino in training with Diego Dias. The filly has already shown up well to date and is on a little break after a minor setback. Diego is going from strength to strength with Winemaker going in yet again in Dundalk during the week. She’s got the pedigree, talent and trainer to make up into a lovely prospect for the season ahead.

Thank you.
