Jody Townend is a firm favourite amongst Syndicates.Racing owners and for good reason. Jody delivered us one of our biggest victories when she partnered Grangee to Grade 2 glory at the DRF 3 years ago. Then, this time last year she lost her claim aboard West End Victory who won on debut in Thurles in front of 42 adoring owners.
Jody and West End Victory in full flow.
West End Victory had her season halted due to a minor setback but she had been working well ahead of her anticipated hurdling debut. She was last seen finishing 5th in the Listed Mares Bumper at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival, form which was boosted this week through the 3rd, Cuta Des As, and the 4th, Theatre Native, both winning their maiden hurdles in good style. WEV is coming through her rehab in Tinnakill in good fashion and we look forward to an exciting summer campaign with her.
Our other Westerner, Ellen Kelly, is coming through her training really well in Closutton ahead of a hopeful springtime debut. Owners were delighted to hear that Jody had been partnering her in her homework over the last couple of days. Westerner is having another stellar season with over 12 winners in February to date including the heavy hitting, uber talented Ferny Hollow who overcame a long absence to take the Grade 3 Newlands Chase on Sunday whilst William Munny looks a serious tool for Barry Connell.
Stallion watch
Bouttemont is in rip roaring form in his new home at Rathbarry Stud and it’s safe to say he’s really enjoying his new role. He’s already covered close to 20 mares, if not more at time of publish, with one of his most exciting mares visiting him over this past weekend.
Buratino storming to victory in the 2015 running of the Grade 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Bergmask is a stakes placed daughter of the mighty Kingmambo who has already produced the Coventry winner Buratino amongst a host of other talented performers. She was sourced at the Goffs December Mares sale specifically for Bouttemont in his first season at stud and she was covered over the weekend. She is only one of a whole host of exciting mares that he is set to cover this year.
By the sounds of it, Bouttemont is enjoying his new job as a stallion at @RathbarryStud!
He is about to walk in the door for his equine blind date, so what might he be saying?!
“Is she nice?” “Is she a brunette or a red head??” “What’s her form like!?” 🤭#BoutteCall pic.twitter.com/lhA2f3aDvl

Meanwhile, Far Above is still the subject of plenty of early season rumours. Alice Haynes had a winner on Tuesday evening and when asked to highlight a couple of juveniles to keep an eye out for the first horse she mentioned was our colt out of Cindy Bear. Listen to what she had to say below.
It’s nice when Alice Haynes highlights as her horse to follow, a Far Above two year old your syndicating
Very exciting times for our Far Above colt out of Cindy Bear. Could he be one for the Brocklesby…

Syndicates Horse of the Week
Study Of Man is a sire we were very keen on at last years yearling sales. We thought he made a particularly good start and all of his progeny looked like they would improve with time. He has already had a G2 winner in the shape of Paddy Twomey’s Deepone but his most talented horse may have been unleashed in Southwell on Saturday evening.
Star Studied looks a real talent!

James Tate released a 3yo colt called Star Studied who absolutely bolted up by 3.25L’s under Clifford Lee demonstrating a monstrous turn of foot which quickly put the race to bed. He has no big entries as of yet but it’d be no surprise if he shaped up into a Guineas contender over the next couple of months.
Study Of Man ex. Strong And Stable filly joins Ollie Sangster this season.
Our usual type of Syndicates.Racing fillies are 7f/1m types who will get better with time and that’s exactly what we expect from this lady. She is fully eligible for the lucrative £20,000 GBB Bonus which we will definitely be targeting. Ollie made a very impressive start to his training career last season and we’re very much looking forward to visiting his historic Manton base during the summer.
She is one of our best value horses on sale this year. A 1% equity stake is just €425. She has plenty of upside with the GBB Bonus, pedigree, predicted racing distance and exciting young trainer with World class facilities.
Thank you.
