The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 4, Issue 7

Almost 30 owners braved the elements on Saturday morning up the Curragh to visit Johnny Murtagh’s Fox Covert base. We have a 100% strike record with Johnny Murtagh as everything we have with him has won. It now appears that physically we may have our best representative to date which is very exciting. Listen to Johnnys comment below.

Our Ravens Pass filly had her first spin up the Old Vic under talented young apprentice Wesley Joyce. She travelled beautifully from the 5f marker and was hard held passing us at the top of the gallop in the style of a very nice filly. She’s an absolute brute of a 2yo, so much so she’d be mistaken as an older horse weighing in close to 500kg. The Goffs Two Million Series has us licking our lips for the season ahead.

The Ravens Pass wasn’t the only Syndicates.Racing horse on show as the tough, gamey, bonny little filly Coulsar was fresh and well after her Friday night run in Dundalk. She looked to have improved again and looks to be crying out for s step up to 7f after her 3rd placed effort on handicap debut. She will head back to the same track on March 15th where we’re hoping that a step up in trip will bring about the improvement needed to get her head in front for the first time. She’s been a lot of fun for her owners over the past couple of months and it doesn’t look like her day is too far away.

Far Above mania continues

New week equals more positive reports on Far Above’s first 2yo’s. Noel Meade was quoted in the TDN saying he has a couple of Far Above’s that go very well. Breeze-up men the length and breadth of the country are all barking about how impressive his progeny are and two of England’s biggest and best trainers reckon that their best 2yo’s are by Far Above.

We couldn’t be happier to have two strapping colts by the sire in training with two young and exciting trainers. Both horses are receiving equally impressive reviews from their trainers and I was particularly taken with the strength and stride length displayed by the Far Above ex. Sopran Verne colt in the update from Tim Donworth above.

Far Above ex. Cindy Bear colt strikes a pose on the Curragh plains.

The Cindy Bear colt had his first strong piece of work up the Old Vic last Sunday and he really caught the eye. He was ridden by burgeoning Curragh trainer and top breeze-up handler Diego Diaz who said “there was plenty more left in him at the top, nice horse who should be able to win first time out.” He arrived in Newmarket with Alice Haynes on Monday and we’ve already started dreaming of the Brocklesby Stakes which is worth £40,000 this year en route to the Royal meeting.

Big hit breeding syndicate

Jack launched our newest breeding Syndicate in the Tuesday Take and we’ve had an overwhelming response. I can’t remember ever launching a syndicate and having so many enquiries straight off the bat but it’s not hard to see why.

Zaakara is a half sister to the multiple Group 1 winning legend, Zaaki.

Zaakara is a half sister to the four time Group 1 winner Zaaki. She is set to be covered by the four time Group 1 winning globetrotter State Of Rest who has welcomed some exceptional first foals in the past month giving this syndicate some serious international appeal. The Australian racing scene is the strongest in the world at the minute and the buying bench at the European sales is huge so the resultant progeny is bound to make some serious appeal.

We had a huge run on shares so there is a very limited amount of spots left available. If you’d like to hear more or get involved please click the button below.
