The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 3, Issue 6

The dust had barely settled on Willie Mullins dazzling DRF display that Nós na Gaoithe members got the update that she was on the March back down to Closutton for her spring campaign. The 129 Racing Post rated dual winning mare will have the Fairyhouse and Punchestown Festivals firmly in her sights where we’re hoping she can do damage off her current mark.

As you can see from the update above Sonny is absolutely delighted with her progress. She has strengthened up well, has settled down and is really enjoying her work. Sonny does a phenomenal job with these horses and knows exactly what is required when they go back down to Willie’s. Banntown Girl ran a blinder for Sonny and she could be Cheltenham bound after her brave display to finish third in Leopardstown.

Willie yet again knocked it out of the park and whilst some of the results may not have gone as expected the “wizard” pulled it out of the bag with his second and third string horses. He looks to have a formidable team heading to Cheltenham and is a force to be reckoned with.

First foals for Fifty Stars and our breeding syndicate

Our breeding syndicate was delighted to welcome a belter of a filly foal by Fifty Stars out of our mare Lady Breffni at the Irish National Stud today. Lady Breffni (Yeats) was a winner of a Grade 2 hurdle at the Fairyhouse Festival and it’s a brilliant confidence builder in the strength of Fifty Stars and Lady Breffni’s stock that they have together produced a foal of this quality. Watch this space for more Fifty Stars foals in the coming weeks including a foal by our very own Cabaret Queen.

Race planning for Next Gen

As the dust settled on last weeks racecourse gallop for West End Victory race plans have began to emerge. Whilst the Mullins juggernaught is not known for planning races in advance Jack and I like to speculate where they might end up. West End Victory came out of her piece of work well and as you’ll see from the video below she’s still managing to pull the arms out of her rider on the famed gallop at Closutton.

Gavin Cromwell is operating off a 26% strike rate in the last two weeks. Himself and Keith Donoghue are in scintillating form. Our Masked Marvel filly went away to Fairyhouse racecourse on Friday for a gallop and a school over hurdles. She was reported to have overcome some greeness and take to her job well. “She should be perfect for Spring ground and may even go straight over hurdles, Galway might be a nice mid-summer target to aim for.” was the comment from Gavin’s racing manager Alan Hannigan.
