The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 3, Issue 21

We were keen to break new ground this year and attempt to get involved in the very competitive point-to-point scene. We scoured every catalogue, watched hours upon hours of video footage, in depth pedigree analysis and listened to on course whispers. We looked at hundreds of horses and found it so hard to get involved all year but boy are we happy with the result.

Good things come to those who wait and we fully believe that our tireless efforts throughout the P2P sales season will bare some serious fruits. It took the mammoth catalogue at Goffs UK for us to strike. A famed sale for us as it was this exact sales ring that started the Syndicates.Racing journey through Cabaret Queen and we’re pretty sure we have the goods in the shape of Sharp Object to continue that journey and bring us to new heights.

One of the shrewdest trainers in the game, John McConnell, won the battle in the ring as we had to settle for the place of underbidder but we were determined to win the war, team up with John and offer this exciting filly to our owners. She was offered by Patrick Turley of Kingsfield Stables, already the producer of some top class performers on the track including this years Punchestown Festival winning mare Shecouldbeanything. If you haven’t seen our Twitter thread yet click “view original post” at the bottom of your email and delve into the details of how and why we purchased the filly.

Jack and I often have differing opinions on horses, playing Devil’s advocate on the pros and cons of what a horse may have to offer. In my almost three years in the job I think it was one of the only horses both of us have landed on at the same time and agreed on straight away! It’s easy see why when you watch her sole start at the prestigious Tattersalls P2P back in April here.

She is by the ever exciting Diamond Boy, sire of this years Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival winning Novice, Impare Et Passe, out of an Oscar half sister to another Cheltenham Festival winner, Finger Onthe Pulse. You can see what we’re getting at right?

If you couldn’t tell from my spiel to date I’m pretty excited to have added this lady to the team and she looks a ready made bumper prospect who has already proved she can jump, stay and has a massive turn of foot. There’s very little not to like. Shares go on sale to priority list members at 10am tomorrow so make sure you’re on the list as we’ve already had a massive response of some very enthusiastic owners!

The Arkle has landed

The Goffs Arkle sale (previously the Land Rover) commences this week and we’ve been busy all day looking for our next star. There’s a good catalogue in place and this time last year we secured Milan Dollar Lady who is showing up well for Peter Fahey. The sale starts Tuesday so we’ve another busy day of looking tomorrow.

Freedom for Fairyhouse on Friday

Freedom Falls made a very encouraging, whilst delayed, seasonal debut in Listowel last week. She’s come out of the race well and we’re taking aim at the 6f 3yo only handicap in Fairyhouse this Friday. She was dropped 4lbs for her fairyhouse run (2lbs mandatory run and got 2lbs back) so she’s dropped into the 0-80 bracket which we hope to make the most of. She had a high level of form as a 2yo and we’re hoping that she can get that coveted 1 beside her name this season.

Thank you.
