The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 3, Issue 20

Queen Of Atlantis, the newly named Advertise filly out of Waterways, could be set to become our first 2-y-o runner of the 2023 flat season. She was our first #BargainBreezer purchase of the year after fetching 40,000gns at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-up sale. She is in training with Group 1 winning young gun Jame Ferguson who had to back off her slightly for 10 days post breeze but has started to turn the screw now in the last week.

She posted a nice piece of work on the watered gallop in Newmarket during the week and we could be looking at a debut for this exciting filly in the coming weeks. She became our quickest horse ever to sell out post launch as she scorched up the Newmarket turf in an impressive breeze.

We’re at the final stages of the Naming Word Cup for our Coultsy filly who I was put under immense pressure to get named ASAP! She was the definition of a #BargainBreezer having been sourced for just €20,000 and safe to say owners have latched onto her also as there is only 20% remaining in her.

She could even become our first 2-y-o runner as master handler Johnny Murtagh spoke to the Tally-Ho team who informed him she was fit and ready to rumble. I’ve put her up as the value purchase of the year so far so I’m very excited to see her hit the track in the coming weeks. Share details are available here.

Phoenix Of Spain had yet another six length 2-y-o maiden winner during the week courtesy of the smart looking Spanish Flame. That’s now three 2-y-o’s by the sire that have won their maidens by 6L’s or more! Four winners in total and a team of exciting Royal Ascot runners.

We latched onto the sire at just the right time by the looks of things having secured this gorgeous filly out of Santa Anabaa alongside our friends at Shamrock Thoroughbreds at the Goresbridge Breeze-up sale. She was also completely sold out in a matter of hour during the week. We have so much faith in the sire that we underbid another filly that Michael O’Callaghan secured for €55,000 and Tinnakill have bred six mares to the exciting freshman sire. We’re looking forward to seeing what Ado McGuinness can unearth in this exciting filly.

Of our yearling contingent, Absolutely Buzzing looks to be thriving with Joseph O’Brien. She completed her stalls cert during the week as she builds towards an anticipated run in the coming month. She has been away to the Curragh already and is doing things nicely at home. She’ll likely get one more away day before we look for her racecourse debut.

Joseph also takes charge of the Gleneagles filly out of the Group 1 winning Spinning Queen. She has been another hugely popular addition to the team with shares flying out the door. She is being broken and pre-trained with Stephen Byrne of Knockgraffon Stables who reports her in good nice.

Zoustar ex. social media in training with Amy Murphy

We could scarcely believe the transformation in our Zoustar filly with Amy Murphy after her break out a grass. She looked to absolutely thrive and the big girl is ready to kick on with now. Zoustar has started the year with a bang with a couple of stakes winning 3-y-o’s and a 150/1 2-y-o winner for Heather Main. This lady is out of a New Approach mare just like this years 1000 Guineas winner Mawj.

Last but not least is Newport Bay who was set to become our first 2-y-o runner only for a minor setback to halt her progress. She has posted some nice pieces of work at home and we look forward to her anticipated debut.

Runners alert

We have an exciting couple of days ahead on the track as Freedom Falls makes her seasonal debut today in the 14:05pm 6.5f Fillies & Mares Maiden at Listowel. She was a smart filly last year recording some excellent pieces of from without managing to get her head in front. It took her a little longer than expected to come to hand this year but she’s just about ready to start off now and this looks a lovely spot for her.

Snowhaven heads to Gowran Park tomorrow for her second handicap start. She ran with credit on her handicap bow in Leopardstown a few weeks ago and we’re looking forward to seeing if she can build on that run and hopefully go a few places closer. The Jessie Harrington team are in scintillating form of late so hopefully we can capitalise on that.

Store sales gearing up

We’ve already added the extremely popular Cabaret Princess to the squad for our 2024 National Hunt string and we will be looking for another few additions at the upcoming Goffs Arkle Sale and the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale. Milan Dollar Lady was purchased for €20,000 at last years Arkle sale and has since joined Peter Fahey. She has posted some nice pieces of work and schools well so we’re looking forward to seeing what she can achieve for us in the coming months.

Milan Dolar Lady in Goffs last year.

We’ll be looking to uphold our 100% w/r strike record with the Derby sale as both of our purchases have won their bumpers first time out. Nós na Gaoithe was purchased for €30,000 at the 2020 sale and duly obliged on her track debut. In 2021 West End Victory joined the team for the exact same sum, went to Willie and won on debut in Thurles this year.

West End Victory winning in Thurles.

Thank you.
