Fast Tara is Sligo bound this day week as she attempts to maintain our 100% strike record at the track. Her form took a timely boost during the week as Grey Leader won his maiden in Gowran on Wednesday franking the Bellewstown form and rather annoyingly leading to a 2lb increase on her handicap mark from 79 to 81. The attractive daughter of Fast Company will line out in the 10.6f €26,000 Irish EBF 3yo+ 0-95 handicap on Sunday 30th of April for the in form Johnny Murtagh. Sligo is one of the most picturesque tracks in the country and we were warmly welcomed for Nós na Gaoithe’s debut victory there a couple of years ago so we look forward to attending next Sunday with a big battalion of owners.
The King has left the building
Cabaret King has departed Sonny Carey’s to take up residence in Closutton once again. He has shown glimmers of talent amidst his quirky ways and we look forward to a clear run with him now in an attempt to uphold our 100% strike record in Irish bumpers first time out. West End Victory has departed for the paddocks on a well deserved break so it will be up to the King and Ellen Kelly to fly the flag for the Syndicates.Racing / Willie Mullins axis during the summer.
Snowhaven shapes with promise
Snowhaven made her seasonal debut in Gowran Park on Tuesday under Nathan Crosse for the red hot Jessica Harrington. She got her season off to a satisfactory start and looks one that will provide us with a lot of fun throughout the summer months. She bolsters what we think is an extremely strong group of older fillies followed through by an exciting crop of youngsters.
Newport Bay looks set to debut around Guineas weekend and looks the most forward of our 2yo crop. Her sire, New Bay, had a new Group winner downunder over the weekend as New Mandate won on his Australian debut for Chris Waller. Joseph O’Brien has also started the season in fine form and he is very happy with Absolutely Buzzing who looks a picture down on “the Hill”.
Impressive trial for Australian colts Syndicate
We broke new ground last year offering a unique opportunity to get involved in an elite colts syndicate. We gave a select few owners the chance to get involved in five extremely well bred colts going to the best trainers in Australasia.
One of the colts was a Zoustar half brother to Everest winner and Coolmore stallion, Yes Yes Yes. He has since been named Grand Larceny and is under the expert tutelage of Hawkes Racing. You’ll see him in the yellow and black colours above undergoing his first trial at Flemington racecourse. Whilst still immature he looks a colt with considerable promise who we very much looking forward to.
Punchestown Competition
We have two free tickets to Punchestown to give away this week. Just head over to our Twitter page to see how you can get involved. We unfortunately won’t have a runner at this years Festival as Nós na Gaoithe was ruled out through injury, West End Victory is on a break and Milan Dollar Lady wasn’t quite ready for the Land Rover Bumper. She however is pleasing her trainer Peter Fahey and we very much look forward to her debut.

Queen set to foal
Cabaret Queen is currently in the foaling unit at the Irish National Stud as she prepares for her second foal. She is carrying to the ever exciting Fifty Stars who is siring top quality foals. Her first foal is a filly by Cokoriko who could yet don the back, white and red of Syndicates.Racing in tears to come.
Cabaret Queen before her excellent effort in the 2020 Aintree Grand National.
In other breeding news Lady Breffni has scanned in foal to the uber exciting Blue Bresil. If her first foal by Fifty Stars is anything to go off then a Blue Bresil foal out of the mare represents a savagely exciting opportunity for her owners.
Breeze-ups in full swing
The Craven Breeze-Up sale in Newmarket marks the start if the European breeze-up season. Fireworks were to be seen yet again at Park Paddocks as the record price was smashed not once, not twice, but three times in what was described as “tricky trade” by consignors. 625,000gns was achieved twice one lot after the other on the final day of the sale.
Whilst we don’t usually have the budget for the Craven and look for a different type of horse than that offered in Donny we will in fact be in action at the Guineas and Gorsebridge breeze-up sales. I posted a link to a Google form a couple of weeks ago and was made aware that it was in fact not working so if you would like to be involved this year please do let us know by clicking here.
Thank you.
