The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 3, Issue 13

The flat well may and truly be back but I can guarantee a good portion of our owners won’t be thinking about Leopardstown or the Curragh this week, eyes will be firmly fixed on entries for the mares Listed Bumper in Fairyhouse on Easter Saturday.

She is being put through her paces in Closutton by her master trainer for a big Spring campaign that will hopefully take in the Fairyhouse and Punchestown Festivals (view original post for video). One very excited member even did an #AskPaddy for next years Mares Novice Hurdle where she was quoted as a 20/1 chance! Safe to say there was some uproar and banter in the group trying to identify the culprit.

Bellewstown took on 24mm of rain in less than 24hrs before their planned fixture on Saturday was cancelled after a 7.30am inspection. We were very excited for the seasonal debut of overnight favourite Fast Tara in the 1m maiden. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see her hit the track. Hopefully Bellewstown will be rescheduled for a day during the week as the calendar isn’t that full at this time of the year.

We were all set to get out flat season off to a flying start with two overnight favourties set to line out in the first two weekends of the season. It was not to be but it gives us good confidence in the firepower that we have going forward. Freedom Falls has come right back to herself and completed a nice breeze up the Curragh on Friday. She will look to hit the track in a couple of weeks time.

Horse Racing’s Tech Trasnformation: Are Machines About to Take Over?

Jack returned with the third episode in the new series of The Art Of The Mating on Thursday and was joined by “The Godfather of biomechanics in the thoroughbred industry”, Byron Rodgers of Performance Genetics. It was a brilliant chat, very insightful, interesting and educational. The two lads spoke about a multitude of different factors such as a horses velocity, the biomechanics of how a horse runs and how to get the edge. Take a look below if you haven’t already seen it and make sure to view the original SSP to get the video. If Spotify is your preferred choice fo podcasts click here.
