The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 2, Issue 6

Go Bears Go and Hello You weren’t the only stars that arrived in Dave Loughnane’s Shropshire base this week! Our Kodi bear filly out of the speedy Cucuma landed on UK shores much to the delight of her owners. She’s a filly that has us excited and we’re hopeful that she can take us on an exciting journey with Dave this year.

Kodi Bear’s fee increased to €15k this year off the back of the exploits of the likes of the aforementioned Go Bears Go, Measure Of Magic, Mystery Angel etc. who all contributed to a phenomenal start for the young Rathbarry sire. He has received a massive increase in both numbers and quality over the last couple of years with some of the best breeders in the World throwing their weight behind him.

Cucuma was a fast, precocious, talented performer who has already produced a full sister to our filly, Sienna Bonnie, who was an emphatic winner of her maiden on just her second start. Cucuma also won her maiden on her second start in April of her freshman season before performing with great credit in blacktype races. She was very unlucky not to add blacktype to the page but she bumped into some smart performers and went down by the narrowest of margins.

Dave’s, like Kodi Bear, stock has greatly increased in each year of his very successful early training career. He has displayed all of the characteristics we look for in trainers. An ability to train 2yo winners, the knack of improving horses from other trainers, a great mind for placing horses, excellent communication skills and an all round nice guy.

Safe to say we’re excited for the season ahead and there is still an option to join us here.

Fifty valentines date for Lady Breffni

Fifty Stars has taken to his second career like a seasoned pro. His placid laid back temperament has followed through into the covering shed and safe to say he is enjoying his new job very much! Rightly so as one of his first mates was our breeding syndicates gorgeous Lady Breffni. She was a €58k purchase at the Tattersalls NH Breeding Stock sale last year. We thought that represented super value as she was a very talented mare on the track and she also has superb physical attributes. Match that with Fifty Stars knock out credentials on race record and physicality it looks to be a match made in heaven which will hopefully get our breeding syndicate members off to a flyer!

Far Above’s living up to the hype

The first Far Above foals have started to arrive and I can tell you from personal experience they do not disappoint! They all pack a punch, with excellent birth weights, limbs, looks and power. It’s easy for us to be biased but the initial feedback from breeders has been extremely positive.

All-In Syndicates Special

We had such a good response to our January Sale Special we decided to rename and extend it to give you the best possible chance of having a winning Syndicates.Racing experience and what a way to do it with four exciting fillies by Kodi Bear, Le Havre, Fast Company and Muhaarar in training with Dave Loughnane, Jessica Harrington, Johnny Murtagh and Jack Davison.

We’ve had at least one 2yo maiden winner in each of the last two flat seasons. Our two winners last year (Mise le Meas and Golden Mayflower) are both intended runners at Royal Ascot this year in the midst of an ambitious campaign which will aim to bring owners to some of the biggest race meetings in the World. This time last year shares were selling out in both of those fillies so don’t miss your chance this time around and het involved here.

Cheltenham confirmed for Grangee

Syndicate members received news during the week that Grangee will in fact make her next start in the Mares Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. It’s the stuff of dreams for all of us involved as this very week two years ago we purchased Grangee in Arqana for just €25k. Little did we know what sort of a journey that we would be taken on and it’s certainly not over yet.

The Mares Novice division this year looks to be the hottest since this races inception which is great for National Hunt racing as people are awake to how valuable talented race mares are and how beneficial the mares program is. It’s going to be a mammoth week and we can’t wait.

Filly foal for Queen Repose

Tinnakill welcomed a hugely exciting foal to the World during the week as exciting Group 1 producing young mare Repose foaled a filly by the Champion Sea The Stars. She is a half sister to dual G1 winner State Of Rest who has European G1 targets on his agenda this year before a potential stallion career and the Listed placed Tranquil Lady who is bound to improve this year.

Thank you.
