The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 2, Issue 26

Nós na Gaoithe translates into “like the wind” in English and this Yeats filly rightly lived up to her name in Ballinrobe seven days ago. A large group of owners turned out west in anticipation that Nós would do what she had promised on her two previous hurdle starts but few expected her to put in the performance she did.

It was by no means a perfect performance with some scrappy, novicey jumping entangled in a run that displayed a filly with a serious engine. There are few men in the weighing room better from the front (or on horseback in general) than Danny Mullins. He handled her expertly and made the most of a filly who will be seen to best effect over a trip and likely a fence.

Her 13L victory boasted a Timeform rating of 114+ which was incidentally the same rating that Grangee received for her maiden hurdle victory. Her Racing Post Rating shot up by 10lbs to 116 and we await the handicappers judgment. Still only a 5yo there will hopefully be plenty more days in the sun with Nós na Gaoithe.

Stable Tour season in full flow

On Saturday it was the turn of Snowhaven and Jessica Harrington to strut their stuff for owners. We welcomed 30 owners to the famed Commonstown Stud to watch our gorgeous Le Havre filly being put through her paces.

Snowhaven has yet to hit the track but she is a filly whom Jessie and the team quite like. She displayed enough talent early doors to suggest she is a filly that will be winning races but a series of growth spurts have delayed her intended debut. In the words of Mrs. Harrington “patience is a virtue” and hopefully it will pay off. She’s an extremely attractive, scopey, good moving individual with a pedigree to die for so we’re all very excited to see what she can do on the track.

We’d like to extend our thanks to Jessie, Richie and all the team in Commonstown who were so accommodating and provided us with a stable tour to remember. This week we roll onto Kilarkin Stud to watch Freedom Falls in action with Jack Davison.

Battle plans for 2023

Yes it is that time of year again somehow, yearling sales. We’ve seriously bolstered our national hunt ranks for the seasons ahead and we want to do the same with our flat string but we need your help. We’re constantly trying to improve our product and provide you with what you want. How do we achieve that? Feedback, feedback, feedback. We are always looking for feedback whether it be good or bad, it is the only way we can improve and keep getting better, keep buying winners and keep having a good time.

We’d love to hear some of your ideas. Click here to fill out a short survey. We’ve managed to improve each year of our very short existence but we’re nothing without our owners so your feedback is vitally important to us.

The Big Read

Continuing our monthly owner profile the notorious Jonathan O’Grady takes centre stage. One of the Syndicates.Racing OG’s Jonathan has been one of out most loyal and luckiest owners. He has a sharp eye for a good horse, loves a bet and can often be spotted in his camper van on any racecourse around the World! Another thoroughly enjoyable read and thank you to Jonathan for giving us his time. Enjoy.

Thank you.

Thanks for reading. Apologies for the delay to publish, we met with some unforeseen circumstances yesterday. Hope you enjoyed this weeks issue and as always if there is anything we can do for you get in touch john@syndicates.racing.
