The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol.2, Issue 23

Another year another successful Breakfast With The Stars. We had a big turnout in Tinnakill yesterday to see stars of past, present and future strut their stuff on the catwalk. Our new recruits by Masked Marvel, Walk In The Park, Westerner and Milan went down a storm. All four have thrived since the sales are are ready to join Gavin Cromwell, Ross O’Sullivan, Willie Mullins and Peter Fahey. An exciting array of trainers to match an exciting array of horses. All horses have now departed to be broken-in and we look forward to following their progress. Full details available at the end of this weeks issue.

The youngsters were followed through by their year older stable mates Cabaret King and West End Victory who are two very exciting 4yo’s in training with Willie Mullins this season. Both horses return to Sonny Carey this week to complete the second part of their pre-training before arriving in Closutton. Grangee made a star appearance and looked in impeccable condition. Safe to say she has stolen the hearts of many of the Syndicates.Racing battalion.

The younger generation were followed through by the older battalion of Cabaret Queen and her new foal along with Lady Breffni who heads up our new breeding syndicate and Munnajaat’s first yearling by Kodiac. Cabaret Queen has adapted to her second life very well and safe to say she looks fantastic. Both mares are safely in foal to exciting new recruit Fifty Stars.

We had over 60 owners in attendance who enjoyed a lovely breakfast spread kindly provided by local caterers Phelans in Mountrath. Dermot talked us all through the 20 year history of the farm, Jack spoke about the squad and we even learned about heart murmurs from Meta. Ian and his team had both the horses and the farm turned out to perfection and Alex Cairns did a wonderful job, as always, capturing the day through the lens. All around it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Freedom Falls debuts

Freedom Falls became our first runner for Jack Davison and we were delighted with her first visit to the track where she finished fourth. She was turned out to perfection and really caught the eye walking around the parade ring. She is a filly that has only really come to hand in the past couple of weeks and has just begun to thrive. She had only had a couple of sharp pieces of work and yesterday was her first day having a proper gallop on the grass. Mikey Sheehy gave her an excellent introduction and noted with a bit more dig in the ground she could be a different proposition altogether. She’s a filly that could have an exciting future.

No luck for Mise on American debut

From the hills of the Slieve Blooms, to running amongst the Kilkenny Cats, to the place where the surf meets the turf, yesterday really encapsulates what a journey Syndicates.Racing can bring you on. Mise le Meas broke yet further new ground for us by becoming our first runner in the States along with our partners Medallion Racing. (view original post for video)

Racing at the rear of the field she was always going to need luck in running which she never got. An incident in the final stretch hampered her late run and she was never going to be able to get on terms. Her jockey was just beginning to stoke her up in attempt to make a challenge at the field but it was short lived as she was badly hampered. She handled the new experience like an absolute pro and we’re looking forward to this exciting new stateside journey with Mise le Meas.

Fast Tara ready to rumble

Ringworm, growth spurts and sore shins have all delayed Fast Tara in her tracks but once again it looks like our patience will be rewarded as a debut is fast approaching for Tara. Her close relation, Tarnawa, was a very unlucky 3rd on debut in Galway in her juvenile year. We have chosen not to avenge her sisters loss to dual Guineas winner Hermosa but instead look for calmer waters on softer ground.

Whilst Tara might not be making the trip to Ballybrit Samantha Maguire along with her Kildare GAA supporters will be taking Galway by storm on Friday evening. We’re hopeful that Nós na Gaoithe may also make an appearance but she is very much a filly that we want to have patience with in order to allow her to fulfil the star potential we believe she has.

Not one, not two but three new horses

We went on a buying spree at the Tattersalls Ireland July Store Sale and we couldn’t believe the value that we were able to get. We’ve managed to have at least one runner in Cheltenham every year we’ve been in operation including a placed effort this year courtesy of Grangee. Winners at the Dublin Racing Festival and the Punchestown Festival, runners in the Grand National, Grade 1 placings, National victories, it’s safe to say we’ve had a very fruitful couple of years with our jumps squad so we went bigger and better this year.

We’ve launched three new package deals to allow you maximum exposure to the winners enclosure. Our Jumps Girls All-In Special is an amalgamation of all four of the horses we bought at this years store sales. The July Sale Gems incorporates the three new additions from the July sale and the Winter Warmers celebrates two new recruits to our jumping trainers ranks. Take a look at each of the new recruits below:
