The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 2, Issue 22

Queen Maedbh burst onto the scene in scintillating fashion during the week at the ITM Barrier Trails in Dundalk. From the stalls the plan of dropping in and riding her to come home were soon out the window as the quick reacting Gary Carroll dropped his hands and let the good looking daughter of Gleneagles bowl along out in front when there was no pace on. It quickly became apparent that she had her rivals under the pump and a simple flick of the rains from Carroll saw our new Queen pick up in eye catching fashion and extend away from the rest of the field with relative ease.

The Cromwell/Carroll axis broke the Joseph O’Brien dominance on the day by putting to the sword three well bred individuals from the Carriganóg base. Her efforts did not go unnoticed and sent syndicate members, bloodstock agents and journalists into a frenzy. Justin O’Hanlon stated in his Dark Horses column that Queen Maedbh “produced the most impressive performance of the day”.

She has been given an entry in Leopardstown on Thursday. We will see how the week goes on whether she will run or not but as you can see from the reviews above everyone is extremely excited by Queen Maedh. Missed the trail and want to see what all of the hype is about? Take a look at the replay below. (please note videos only available on original website post, they don’t appear via email).

Kilarkin Concorde ready to take flight

Queen Maedbh hasn’t been the only Syndicates.Racing filly to burst onto the scene in the last couple of weeks. Freedom Falls, trained in Kilarkin Stud by Jack Davison, has come to hand very quickly and has posted a couple of eye catching pieces of work up the Old Vic under Ronan Whelean the last two Saturdays.

We were delighted to welcome along some of Freedom Falls owners to the Curragh to watch her be put through her paces under the watchful eye of her trainer. It was a very enjoyable morning and Freedom Falls is another one for the notebooks. We expect her to hopefully debut towards the end of this month and she may even debut at the Galway Festival. Somehow there is still a solitary share remaining in this filly, one I was sure would be taken after last week, so click here to make it the lucky last!

The Big Read

This week we’re starting a new segment in the SSP focussed around the most important part of why we’re able to do what we do at Syndicates.Racing. A series of monthly interviews with our owners shedding light on how they got involved, some memories, tales and lots of random facts. Who better to start with than Mr. Pete Foy. Its well worth the read.

Breakfast With The Stars

It’s that time of year again when we celebrate our track stars along with all of our members, friends and family. It was a rip roaring success last year with a big turnout to see Cabaret Queen (who has her foal this year), her half brother Cabaret King, West End Victory, our new Milan filly, Munajaat and her foal, Grangee and much more on an action packed day that is one of highlights of the Syndicates.Racing calendar. If you missed last years addition take a look at the video below to get a taster of what might be in store. (View original post).

This year the Cantillon family and the team at Tinnakill, who celebrated 20 years in operation this week, are kindly hosting us on Saturday July 23rd. There will be a light breakfast, some great entertainment and an enjoyable day promised. If you plan on attending please click here to fill out the form. It’s a great family day out or even bring a long a friend who is thinking about getting involved.

Galway Festival Looming

This years Galway Festival is promising to be one of the biggest and best on record. Two years of lock down have hampered one of the summer highlights but its going to be back with a bang in 2022. Freedom Falls, Fast Tara and Nós na Gaoithe are all potential runners for Syndicates.Racing. Our last runner at the Festival was indeed Cabaret Queen who made her seasonal debut in the Galway Plate and ran a great race to be third before going onto Kerry National Glory on her next start.

Fast Tara’s close relation, Tarnawa, ran an eye-catching debut as a juvenile at the Galway Festival when she flew home from the back of the pack to be third to subsequent dual 1000 Guineas winner Hermosa. It is usually a hot contest but if there was ever a filly bred for the job it may just be our lady. Freedom Falls is another one who could debut in Galway. She’s quite a refined filly who would likely fly around the tight Galway track.

Thank you.
