Join us behind the scenes at Goffs
We’re delighted to be bringing the syndicate for a big day out to Goffs on Tuesday, 7 June for the Goffs Land Rover Sale as we begin our summer series of events exclusive to our owners. We’ve arranged a morning behind the scenes where you’ll see first hand the work that goes into selecting the future stars of the national hunt season. We’ll hear from the team at Goffs, get a bite to eat and inspect some potential new recruits. We aim to buy at least two stores this year so we’d love if you’d come along and help us out right at the heart of the action. You can register for your spot here.
Fifty Stars and Far Above exceeding expectations
We’ve been overwhelmed by the support of both Fifty Stars and Far Above as they stride into their final month covering. Fifty Stars has always covered Lady Breffni (our first broodmare syndicate mare), Cabaret Queen, a sister to Casamento, the dam of Wicklow Brave, a sister to Road to Respect, a sister to the dam of Tiger Roll and many more. Far Above’s first foals have got breeders very excited – so much so he’s on course to break 100 mares this year something we’re very proud of in his difficult second season. If you have a late foaling mare and would like to use either stallion just drop Jack or John a message and they’ll make sure you’re looked after.
Oz syndicate sold out
Our final two shares in our Oz syndicate have been reserved so once they are paid for we will be officially sold out. What started as an experiment (we will admit some thought very mad experiment!) really captured the imagination of our owners. We couldn’t have been more excited to see our Zoustar colt pictured above (a half-brother to Everest winner Yes Yes Yes) finish pre-training already. If you’d like to be on the waiting list should either of those two shares fall through or to hear about our next Oz adventure just let John know on john@syndicates.racing. We’re looking forward to sharing the journey down under with everyone over the coming months.
PS If you’d like a heads up, our next syndicate will be our Gleneagles filly with Gavin Cromwell who has attracted a flurry of interest from groups of friends this week. We’d be very surprised if she’s not sold out by our next edition.
New Emerald Bay in foal to Invincible Spirit
It’s great to see our previous stars blossom in their new career. Here’s New Emerald Bay in the paddock this week at Tinnakill in foal for the first time. She is safely in foal to Irish National Stud star Invincible Spirit. New Emerald Bay was a winning two year old for her syndicate and Johnny Murtagh, just like Mise Le Meas and hopefully Fast Tara when she hits the track. In doing so, she was the first winner at Punchestown on the flat for 18 years.
Royal Ascot Picnic
We’d love to invite you to our family picnic (hosted alongside Peter Kelly and Con Marnane each year) on the Wednesday of Royal Ascot after racing. The picnic will be located beside the green shed in the owners and trainers car park under an Irish flag after racing on Wednesday. It’s a big year for the syndicate at Royal Ascot as we expect to have at least two runners in Golden Mayflower and Mise Le Meas. Should you have any trouble finding us on the day just drop us a text. We’ have a lot of bubbly to get through so we need your help!
Fast Tara Gearing up
It’s very exciting to see our Fast Tara, Fast Company filly start to come to hand for Johnny Murtagh to make her debut shortly. Her close relation Tarnawa did not debut until late July at the Galway races as a two year old but it looks likely this lady will be out before then. Looking back to that debut of Tarnawa is a testament to the strength of Irish maidens as she was only third behind future duel Guineas winner Hermosa in a humble Galway maiden. Fast Tara will be in a race with Snowhaven, Gleneagles and Freedom Falls as our next debutante and we can’t wait.
Farewell Lester Piggott
It’s with great sadness we read the news that an icon of racing died this morning in Lester Piggott. The legendary figure of horse racing in the twentieth century will live on forever and we send our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
That’s everything for this week. As always if we can be any help do not hesitate to reach out to john@syndicates.racing or aimee@syndicates.racing and we’ll sort you out right away.
