The Sunday Syndicates Post – Vol. 2, Issue 16

Yesterday was not to be for Golden Mayflower. She had been expertly prepared by Amy and her team for the day but the ground continued to dry out from decs when it was good to soft to be on the firmer side of good come the Listed Oaks Trail. Mayflower never let down properly and Silvestre said he could never get her out of second gear that she never felt comfortable on the ground. We missed that finishing kick that we saw in both her previous starts which can hopefully lead us to drawing a line through the run. In any event she’s still a smart filly and we’ve much to look forward to for the season ahead.

Owners lunch at Newbury racecourse

It was great to have a runner in a Classic Trail on a Group 1 day where we saw something special in the shape of Baeed and Persian Force also laid down a gauntlet in what looks a very exciting crop of 2yo colts this year. We had ten owners over and it was a thoroughly enjoyable day with excellent hospitality and facilities at Newbury.

Super-sub Samantha Maguire almost ready for action

Our Kildare GAA Syndicate got very exciting news of a super-sub to replace the injured Lily Maguire. She has been named Samantha Maguire and looks a robust, athletic, attractive filly that will hopefully provide some fun for the group before a potential return to action by Lily Maguire in the autumn.

Willie McCreery kindly leased the filly to us to fill the void left by Lily so we’re very grateful to Willie and his team for giving us the opportunity to continue one of our most vibrant new groups.

Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of

Tinnakill House Stud homebred, New York City, will be hoping to keep the Royal Ascot dream alive today in Naas as he headlines the “Royal Ascot Trails Day” in the Group 3 Lacken Stakes. He has won both his starts this year including the Listed Committed Stakes in good fashion on his last start, beating the re-apposing Straight Answer readily by a length.

New York City was bred and sold as a foal by the Cantillon’s for 375,000gns to WH Bloodstock before going on to realise 600,000gns as a Book 1 yearling in 2020 to MV Magnier. He is out of the Group 1 winner Rajeem who was purchased by Tinnakill for a mere €26,000 in 2015 in foal to Slade Power.

Listed on the catalogue page that year was 2015 colt by Invincible Spirit. That colt turned out to be the Group 2 winning and Group 1 placed Invincible Army. A top class sprinter for James Tate and Saeed Manana from 2017-2019. Invincible Army now stands at Yeomanstown Stud for €7,500 where he has some lovely progeny on the ground.

“Exceptional Foals”

Was the phrase used by leading bloodstock agent Richard Brown when he described Far Above’s first crop foals and it’s not hard to see why…

Far Above ex. Woodland Scene bred by Marianne Pasler

Good friend and syndicate member Marianne Pasler conducted one of the shrewdest bits of buying at the 2020 Tattersalls December Sales when she managed to purchase Woodland Scene for just 6,000gns. Not only was the mare already a half sister to a Group 1 winner her 2019 foal, Nazanin, won on debut before going on to land the Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes last year.

She has a Decorated Knight yearling and has produced this “exceptional” Far Above foal. He’s got strength, size and substance a trait which his father is passing on in spades. One thing is for certain, Marianne’s 6,000gns looks very well invested now.

Low Stock Alert

Our Australian Syndicate has been extremely well received. There are now only two shares remaining and we have a very broad section of owners from all across the globe involved in what could be a game changing new syndicate. It’s extremely rare to have an opportunity to buy into some of the best bred colts in the entire World who could go on to shape the breed in the future. All the information can be found here.

2yo’s up and running

Cucumbear debuted for us and the in form Dave Loughnane at Chepstow and Tuesday and we came away buoyed by a filly who looks a winner in waiting. She has proved a little bit of a madam and greeness was aplenty on her first visit to the track where she broke slowest of all before drifting left onto the rail. The race developed away from her but she showed a good turn of foot and it took the jockey another 5f to pull her up! She has been given an entry in Bath on Friday, the track where her full sister bolted up by 8 lengths on her second start so we’re hoping Cucumbear can uphold the family tradition. If you would like to get involved click here.

Fast Tara is only a couple of weeks off her debut and she has impressed her Classic winning trainer, Johnny Murtagh, in everything she has done to date. Snowhaven was away to the Curragh for a gallop last week and galloped well. She is about three weeks off a run for Jessica Harrington and we’re excited by her.

Gleneagles ex. Euthenia in training with Gavin Cromwell

Freedom Falls is taking her work really well and is one likely for a June debut. She looks sharp, quick and talented. 5f-6f will be her trip. The response to our new Gleneagles filly has continued to be very good and Gavin is very happy with her. Gleneagles had his second G1 winner last night at Belmont Park in America.

HRI Ownership Evening

The ownership department have kindly extended an invite to us to bring a selection of owners to the Curragh on Friday evening for the Tattersalls Guineas Festival. We have a limited number of tickets so please click here fill out the form if you would like to attend.
