Nós na Gaoithe couldn’t end our recent spell of “seconditis” yesterday in Cork but she ran with a huge amount of credit. A high class bumper mare winning on debut last August before an ambitious blacktype campaign over the minimum trip which never played to her strengths but she still managed to log some top class form in the book. Being a half sister to Rathvinden from one of the best staying chasing families in the stud book time, jumping and a trip were always going to bring out the best in Nós.
A step up to 2m3f certainly saw her to good effect. She battled hard the whole way to the line to just go down by a head to the more experienced Miranda Priestly with a series of novicey jumps leading jockey Paul Townend to draw the conclusion that her jumping was the difference between winning and losing. It’s never nice losing by such a narrow margin but for a first start over hurdles to jump round and get stuck in to a battle like that and pull 19l’s clear of a €230k winning point to pointer was exciting to see.

Plan A will be to win her maiden hurdle in the next couple of weeks, go for a small summer break and hopefully take aim at the Galway Festival. She enjoys nice ground, has a big engine and stays well so if she can get her jumping in order (which she will) we have a very excited group of owners looking to the future.
No stopping Loughnane
There are few trainers in as hot as form as Dave Loughnane at the minute. Hes operating off a 23% strike record in the last 14 days highlighted by Group 3 success for Lola Showgirl yesterday after Absolutelyflawless took the Lily Agnes at Chester during the week and Omniqueen laid down a serious stake for the Queen Mary. His last four 2yo runners are operating at a 50% strike rate whilst the other two were both second. He’s built up an enviable team of horses and really looks a force to be reckoned with this summer.
Dave’s scintillating form has led us to become very excited for Cucumbear’s debut in Chepstow on Tuesday. Chester winning jockey and highly skilled horsewoman Laura Pearson takes a very valuable 3lbs off her back. By sire sensation Kodi Bear out of an Invincible Spirit mare she’s bred to be sharp, quick and early and we think she is going to provide us with a lot of fun this summer.
If you want some immediate flat action buy a share in Cucumbear on the day she declares for her debut and we’ll give you a money back guarantee if you haven’t had a good experience within four weeks of purchase.
Shares soaring in Gleneagles filly
It looks like our new syndicate really hit the nail on the head. After launch last Sunday evening we had 60% sold in less than 24hrs. A steady flow throughout the week means that there is just 25% remaining. Gavin Cromwell Couldn’t be happier with her and you can listen to what jockey Gary Carroll had to say about her here.
I can’t envisage shares lasting too much longer as we’ve noticed a lot of people taking bigger chunks of her such is the opportunity. Be quick and get involved as Royal Ascot is only around the corner!
No joy for Mise
Mise le Meas once again competed with great admiration in the Group 3 Athasi Stakes on Monday. She just missed out on adding some Group blacktype to her page which is unfortunate but we learned a lot from her Monday run. Being by a French Derby winner we never thought making her up into a sprinter would be possible but it very much looks like the route that we will now take.
She has so much natural pace, travels so well throughout her races and has a finishing kick that a drop back to 6f will now be the plan. The Palace Of Rodyhouse, a 3yo only handicap, on the Friday of Royal Ascot will now be her main aim. It may all happen a bit quick for her but Ascot’s stiff 5f is something that we’re hoping will suit her and she might just nab them on the line.
All-In Special reimagined
We did a soft launch of two new package deals during the week to try to maximise owner enjoyment. We had such a good response to the initial “All-In Special” that we wanted to add our new Gleneagles to the deal also. The new package gives owners the perfect blend between leasing and equity to see which suits best. It’s also five shots at the winners enclosure, five stable tours, five times more race days and five times the fun with a good shot at prize money and maybe an equity deal with the Gleneagles filly. Click here to view all the details.
The second package deal is the “Bargain Bullets” which compromises of the three Irish fillies in training with Johnny Murtagh, Jessica Harrington and Jack Davison. The price is all inclusive for the season and all three fillies have been coming through their homework very nicely. For further information on the Bargain Bullets syndicate click here and get involved today.
Low stock alert
There are now only three shares remaining in our Australian colts syndicate. It presents a unique opportunity to get involved in the most vibrant racing industries in the World. All colts are regally bred and could potentially end up at stud but it is a wonderful opportunity to experience and learn about racing in the Southern Hemisphere. You can see all the details here and get in touch if you would like to be involved.
Tinnakill House Stud homebred Tranquil Lady bolts up in the Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes at Naas yesterday. She is a half sister to x3 Group 1 globetrotting superstar State Of Rest. She is as low as 6/1 for the Oaks and looks a very smart filly for the future. Photo credit: Caroline Norris
Thank you
As always thank you for reading. We potentially have another big week on the track this week with Cucumbear’s debut followed up by a possible tilt at the Newbury Oaks Trail with Golden Mayflower on Saturday so best of luck to all owners involved with both horses.
