Sharp Object became our fifth winner of the ITBA bonus breaking her maiden over hurdles at Downpatrick. The ITBA bonus gives her an extra €7,500 to add to her prize money from the €10,000 contest. The talented mare made all in front under a smart ride from John McConnell’s stable jockey Ben Harvey. The daughter of Diamond boy will now be aimed at novice hurdles with one eye at a long term furture over fences as she showed significant promise over fences as part of her point-to-point career with leading handler Patrick Turley. Patrick actually has his gallop in the middle of Downpatrick racecourse so no wonder Sharp Object enjoyed being “home”.
