Who is she?
A gorgeous Westerner filly – we’ve only ever bought three of them – both won bumpers for Willie Mullins, our plan is for this mare to be the next.
Why her?
You know the phrase once burned twice shy? That was the story behind this filly. We’ve loved progeny out of her dam Petrovic every year when they come to auction. They are bred by leading boutique jumps breeders Gary Hadden, one of the best in the business. We were underbidders on her half-sister Queen’s Vic before her going on to be one of the most impressive point-to-point mares for her generation for Scobie Fitzgerald. This mare prowled around Goffs when selling at the Goffs Arkle Sale and when that was combined with a stallion that has also been so good to us, we weren’t going to be beaten on her – especially when coming from Gary’s nursery that delivers time and time again.
What is the dream plan?
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it – we’re following the same program of our previous two Westerner fillies. Nurture her development and set our sights on a bumper in 2025 before a hugely exciting career over obstacles with the peerless Willie Mullins. If she can develop into a blacktype mare, she will be hugely valuable given her pedigree.
