Who is she?
A powerful daughter of an excellent stallion with an injection of raw speed from her dam. She’s got a big rear end that will propel her forward towards the finish line – we think very quickly indeed too.
How is she going?
A quick learner! She likes to do her job every day and for her that’s go as fast as her rider will let her. We are progressing her towards a piece of work in early March which will indicate when will be ready for a debut. She’s being prepped by Shane Power, one of Ireland’s best horse men and will join the Thorne team later in the spring.
Why her?
Churchill, the sire of Blue Rose Cen, Vadeni, Ladies Church and so many others is always on our radar with our focus on proven sires to give us an edge at the racecourse. Her dam was a very fast filly – she won a York maiden on debut as a two year old (recording a Racing Post Rating of 91) and then just five days later she was fifth in the Queen Mary, beaten just 3 lengths by future Group 1 winning Rizeena.
What is the dream plan?
If you wanted a tip for 2025, we think Stephen Thorne will have a very successful first full year as a trainer (we’ve already seen the early signs of this at Dundalk). We wanted to get in at the get in at the ground floor and we’re really excited to put together this syndicate to do exactly that. This filly is going to give a lot of fun – no wonder Stephen has taken 25% himself.
